Preschool Director - Mrs. Becky Buth

Becky was born and raised in Michigan where she attended a Lutheran Elementary school. After graduating from high school at Michigan Lutheran Seminary in Saginaw, MI, she attended Martin Luther College in New Ulm, MN. She graduated in 2003 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education. She has taught preschool for 19 years, most of those years here in California.

In 2011, Becky married her husband, Adam, a lifelong member at King of Kings. They have 3 boys, Jackson, Benjamin, and Joshua.

From early on, Becky always wanted to be a teacher and work with young children. She is excited to help your child grow physically, mentally and most importantly, Spiritually through hands on experiences and open-ended materials and the love of her Savior.

Preschool Instructional Aide - Maeta Breese

Maeta was born and raised in California. King of Kings has been an integral part of her life. She was baptized, attended school and was married there. Her 4 children all attended there as well. 

In 2015 she became certified as an aide and began assisting the teachers part time. She enjoys many aspects of the job; the varied ways she can help to teach, seeing God’s Word working in the students and assisting parents during their child’s introduction to school!

Kindergarten - Mrs. Nancy Sanchez

I have the privilege of teaching kindergarten here at King of Kings Christian Academy for over 20 years. I hold a dual degree from Long Beach State University in Child Psychology and Health Education, and completed a five-year program in doctrinal studies from Martin Luther College in Minnesota. I have also completed many courses in Early Childhood and Special Education, constantly striving to update my education and my curriculum.

God has truly blessed King of Kings Christian Academy with a strong academic program based upon His Word. I am a member of a loving, talented staff that cares about the students and their families. We strive to prepare the children for the present, for the future, and for eternity. To God be the glory.

Grades 1 and 2 - Mrs. Mary Plocher

Mrs. Mary Plocher was born and raised in Crete, IL, where she attended Lutheran Elementary School, as well as Illinois Lutheran High School. She graduated from Dr. Martin Luther College in 1995 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education.

After marrying Jon Plocher in 1995, she moved to California where she served as a kindergarten teacher at Living Word Lutheran School in Mission Viejo. She held various teaching positions in Houston, Texas and taught kindergarten and first grade in Tampa, FL as she also raised her family of four.

Mrs. Plocher enjoys traveling, working in her yard, and spending time with her family. She loves using her musical gifts and talents to direct numerous choirs, teach piano lessons, and play the organ and piano.

Grades 3, 4, and 5 - Mr. Joshua Robertson

Mr. Robertson serves as the 3-5th grade teacher, athletic director, and coach at King of Kings Christian Academy. Mr. Robertson was born and raised in Wisconsin where he attended lutheran elementary schools. After graduating from high school at Luther High School in Onalaska, WI, he attended Martin Luther College in New Ulm, MN, graduating in 2019 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education. He also earned minors in Social Studies, Physical Education, and Coaching. Mr. Robertson served on several church youth boards during grades 6-12 and is excited to be a part of revitalizing the youth ministry at King of Kings Lutheran Church.

During his free time Mr. Robertson enjoys many activities such as frisbee golf, ultimate frisbee, beach activities, hiking, and watching sports! No matter what he is doing, he likes to be with friends and family. Mr. Robertson is thrilled to join the ministry at King of Kings Lutheran School. His prayer is that God uses him to encourage those he serves with the incredible, awe-inspiring love of our Savior.

Grades 6, 7, and 8 - Principal, Mr. Jon Plocher

Jon was born and raised in Michigan where he attended Lutheran elementary schools. After graduating high school from Michigan Lutheran Seminary, he attended Dr. Martin Luther College in New Ulm, Minnesota. He graduated in 1995 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education. He was first assigned to teach here at King of Kings Christian Academy where he taught grades 5-6 from 1995 to 2000. He then accepted a call to teach at Christ the Lord Lutheran in Houston, Texas, from 2000 to 2004. There he taught grades 3-5 for one year before switching to grades 6-8 and serving as the school principal. In 2004 he accepted a call to teach grades 4-6 at Bay Pines Lutheran School in Seminole, Florida. After serving there for ten years, he accepted a call to return to King of Kings in 2014 to teach grades 6-8. In 2018, he also accepted the call to be the school’s principal. During this time, he graduated from Martin Luther College with a master’s degree in educational leadership.

In 1995, Jon married his wife, Mary. They have four children and one grandchild. In his free time he enjoys fishing, traveling, rooting for his Michigan sports teams, and playing games. His favorite Bible passage is 1 Peter 3:18, “But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever, Amen!” He is excited to help the students of our school grow in their faith in Jesus.

Campus Pastor (English) - Brian Doebler

I grew up in the suburbs of Chicago. After completing my seminary training, I started as a pastor in Santa Ana, CA in 2001. Since then, I have served as a pastor in Texas, northern California, and Wisconsin as well.

My wife, Jessica, and I were married in July of 2002. We have been blessed with four children. One of our children still attends King of Kings. We live in the house next to the school.

I enjoy working in the school teaching catechism to the 6-8th graders and leading in our weekly chapel on Wednesday mornings.

Campus Pastor (Spanish) - Grant Hagen

Grant Hagen was born on December 9, 1995 in San Diego, California. The youngest of two boys, he and his family moved to Appleton, Wisconsin when he was less than a year old. He lived in Appleton and was a member of Immanuel Lutheran in Greenville, Wisconsin for the majority of the next 26 years. After studying biology in Missouri during his freshman year of college, he transferred to Martin Luther College to study for the pastoral ministry. After graduating from MLC in 2018, Grant took a year off of school before enrolling in Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary. He served as a vicar at a bilingual church in Denver, Colorado and graduated from the Seminary in May of 2023. Grant has a girlfriend named Taylor who serves as a high school social studies teacher at Divine Savior Academy in Doral, Florida. His favorite Bible verse in Psalm 27:14, “Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.”

Campus Pastor (Vietnamese) - Trung Le

Huu Trung Le (Trung) is from Vietnam. He was born on August 8, 1972, in Saigon, Vietnam. He is the oldest son with 3 siblings in his family. He has lived in the United States for 28 years. He lived for a while in Michigan then moved to Idaho in 2006. There he became a Christian and a Lutheran in December 2009. He has been a member with Peace in Jesus Vietnam Lutheran Church in Boise, Idaho since 2009. During that time, he was involved in ministry in many different roles. Trung graduated from Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary on May 26, 2023, through the PSI program (Pastoral Studies Institute). His wife’s name is Lisa. Trung and Lisa have been married for 21 years and have one son, Timothy. Timothy is 19 years old and a student at Boise State University. Trung’s favorite Bible verse is from John 14, “Jesus answered, ‘I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.’”
